Cell Phones Are Useless: When the Lamia attacks, Christine attempts to call Clay. wait a second, where's the envelope? This Cat Scare allows Christine to make her fatal mistake.

Cat Scare: While Clay drives Christine home, Mrs. She justifies the curse by the last act she commits out of sheer terror. Can't Get Away with Nuthin': Christine, an atypically nice horror heroine is cursed to Hell because she evicted a senior citizen from her home to live with her granddaughter. The 'scary' scenes had as much chance of making you either scream, puke, or laugh. Clay also breaks after she's dragged into hell. Which eventually leads to killing the cutie. Break the Cutie: Christine breaks at the train station. 
Bloody Hilarious: The nosebleed scene. Be Yourself: The first Aesop presented in the film, and the first one broken by Christine. 
Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Played Straight for nearly the entire film, but diabolically subverted at the end. Christine successfully subdues the corpse and escapes the grave. Ganush to grab her hair in an attempt to pull her under. However, she is deep in the ground, and the rain is heavy: the grave begins to flood, miraculously allowing the corpse of Mrs. Ganush's grave, opens the coffin, and shoves the cursed button inside the corpse's mouth. Battle in the Rain: Christine finally faces the source of her strife by driving to the cemetery where Mrs. From where she stands, Christine sees a taut rope holding an anvil in place above the apparition's head, which she then severs with the blade of one of her ice skates: the anvil crushes the apparition's skull, shooting its eyes into Christine's mouth. Ganush attacks her pushing her against a pillar and shoving its fist down her throat.
